Obituary
Mallory April 21, 1991- October 17, 2021
Thank you to my beautiful, smart, happy, Haflinger pony for the delightful years we had together.
Mallory lived a wonderful long life and touched a lot of hearts. During her ten years at my farm she enjoyed her role as the leader of the herd. Her donkey friends adored her. They were always together and had many fun times. Mallory loved to race. She would tell the donkeys it was time to go back to the barn and challenge them to gallop in with her. She claimed it was a race but would not let them pass her; she won every time!
Mallory had a chronic health issue but she never let it define her. She lived her best life such as; learning tricks (playing a toy piano was her favorite- actually smiling for the camera was one she loved as well), grazing, napping in the sun, snow (she loved to be covered in snow), playing with kids, and being scratched. She also helped teach many people at the animal communication workshops I taught at our home/barn.
She was one of the main characters in a children’s book that my daughter and I wrote together. At the launch party Mallory dressed up in ribbons and smiled for the cameras repeatedly as each kid got a turn riding her dressed as a fairy.
In her last week she let me know more than once that she had come to the end of this adventure. I didn’t want that to be true because I am going to miss her like crazy. She choose a moment to go when both the donkeys and I were with her. It was a little scary and hard for me but I now know she is at peace- running races once again!
