I have a passion for equines. In my backyard I enjoy the company of a miniature donkey (Burrito), a Mammoth donkey (Ichabod), and a Haflinger pony (Mallory).
My equine portraits are created digitally and printed on metal and metallic paper for display on the wall. I take photographs of nature and transform the photos in graphic patterns. I then use the patterns to create images by "painting" with the patterns in Photoshop.
I would love to make a connection and create a portrait of your horse or donkey.
Commissions are very easy to arrange. I will need a good digital photo to use as a reference (we can work on choosing the best photo to work from). If you are using a photo from a professional photographer we will need their permission to proceed.
You can add the size and material of your choice to the cart and purchase now. I will be in touch with you get a photo of your horse. The process can take several weeks to draw your horse then get the print or make the quilt, then ship it to you. If you have a time sensitive need please contact me.
Bolero is a stunning Haflinger. When I saw photos of him taken by Jen Thackery I knew I needed to draw him.
Haflingers love the snow. You can see how easy he is cantering through the white powder. I have an older mare (Haflinger) and she loves to stand out in the snow, getting a thick white blanket all over her body.
Burrito is kind, loves kids, and enjoys hugs. He is also suspicious of many things such as people who carry sticks, wear skirts, and large polka dots (really!). He is everything you could ever want from a donkey. Fun loving and unwilling to do most things until he is sure that it is the very best idea.
Ichabod is my mammoth donkey. As you might have guessed, he is huge. He is like a very big labrador. Always wants attention and is extremely friendly. He is black (with reddish brown hightlights) and cream accents. I choose to draw him with blues because I can and I love blue!
Tasha is my neighbor's horse. I got to know her about 10 years ago. I really enjoyed watching her raise her son, Magnitude. She is bright, alert, and sometimes a touch suspicious but very pleasant.
Lilly is a commission. I enjoyed drawing her so much. She has a beautiful coat and her colors are so interesting. She is a buckskin with a light colored head and darker body. She has a very soft kind eye.
Jake is an equine commission. His person called him Jake the Dragon which inspired the backdrop. His bay coat looks beautiful with gray and when I thought of the smoke from a dragon's nose I came up with that sky. I love they way is face shades from dark brown on the forehead to almost chestnut at the nose.
Burrito is a very special miniature donkey. He loves getting hugs from children. He also enjoys playing with his friend Ichabod, a Mammoth Donkey. Burrito figured out that if he stands on the high part of a hill he can gain some much needed height for their wrestling games.
Cassie is a commissioned piece. She has beautiful long hair and a very sweet expression.
I was very excited to draw Rono when I saw his strong straight nose.
