My design process occurs almost exclusively in my imagination. I usually work on a piece for a few days or even a month or more in my mind before taking any action toward making the art. I can't draw (seriously bad at it!), so I skip straight to making the art quilts after I know the design in my mind. No sketching. This has always worked for me.
Recently, I am working on some new pieces using different fabrics than I am used to. I felt like it might be better to sample the colors and fabrics before committing to large pieces. I designed the textiles on the computer, got them printed on fabric, and then made mini art to consider which techniques and colors I like best.
Here are the results.
To purchase one of the sample pieces fill out the form below and tell me what you love about the piece. I am selling them as "Karma Art", pay what you like- give the art a loving home. This isn't an auction; if more than one person wants the same piece I will consider your love for it as well as your financial offer. I have never tried a sale like this before but when I heard of another artist doing it I thought it sounded fun. So let's have fun!
